Gaza Envelope. Oct 7th Memorial Visit
Memory & Resilience in the Gaza Envelope
Service Description
A Full-Day Group Tour – Sderot, Be’eri, Nova & Yad Mordechai Duration: Full day (approx. 8–9 hours) Group size: 8–20 participants Physical level: Moderate (some walking on uneven ground at memorial sites) Price: From 495 NIS per person (based on group size – contact us for exact quote) Tour Overview This powerful and sensitively guided full-day tour takes you into the heart of the Gaza Envelope (Otef Aza) — the region most directly affected by the events of 7 October 2023. We will visit the key memorial sites in a logical and respectful sequence, hearing stories of heroism, loss, and extraordinary resilience. The day combines some of the most significant October 7th memorials with a final stop at Yad Mordechai, where we connect the bravery of 1948 with the strength shown by communities today. This is not a tour of tragedy alone. It is an opportunity to bear witness, to honour memory, and to see the deep Jewish connection to this land and the remarkable ability of its people to rebuild and endure. Led by Yoni Lemel, a licensed Israeli tour guide well grounded in Jewish heritage and history, the day is conducted with sensitivity, depth, and an emphasis on resilience and continuity. Itinerary Highlights Sderot – Visit the Police Station Memorial, site of fierce fighting on 7 October, followed by Koby Lookout (Givat Kobi), a moving vantage point overlooking Gaza that offers powerful context to life on the border. The Car Wall Memorial (near Tkuma) – One of the most visceral and large-scale memorials, featuring hundreds of burnt vehicles from the Nova festival route. Lunch in Netivot – Time for lunch at one of the town’s local eateries (options include excellent sabich and other Israeli favourites). Lunch is at your own expense and pace. Kibbutz Be’eri – A respectful stop outside the gate of one of the communities most affected on 7 October. Nova Festival Memorial Site – The largest and most personal of the memorials. Walk through the moving installations, the field of red flowers, and spaces dedicated to the victims. Yad Mordechai – A meaningful closing stop at this historic kibbutz. We explore the 1948 battle site and museum, drawing powerful parallels between past and present Jewish resilience.
